USING THE IIT ARCHIVES

Use of Collections / Preferred Citations

Access to archival collections is provided to researchers free of charge. However, any reproduction, publication or direct quoting of materials is subject to copyright restrictions. Brief quotes from archival materials may be used in published materials without permission accompanied by the following citation: Courtesy of IIT Archives, Paul V. Galvin Library, Chicago followed by source identification as appropriate (usually the collection title, accession number, box & folder titles). Permission to reproduce, in any form, archival materials must be secured from the copyright holder. In addition, fees may apply to the use of any research materials supplied to you by the IIT Archives. Preferred citations will be identified when materials are selected.

Standard fees for photocopies are 20¢ per page (black and white only; maximum 8 ½" x 14") plus postage (first class postage for 1 oz. or less; $3.20 for over 1 oz.).

The IIT Archives loans its collections only to other educational institutions and only for exhibit purposes. Materials may not be loaned to individuals. Use of the collections for research purposes is to be conducted on site and under supervision of Galvin Library staff. No materials may be removed from the Library.
